LED stands for Light Emitting Diode.

2. Working principle

The interior of the LED mainly consists of a PN junction. When electrons and holes in the PN junction recombine, electrons transition from high energy levels to low energy levels, releasing excess energy in the form of photons, resulting in electroluminescence. The luminous color is related to the material elements that make up its base.

3. Materials

Materials: GaAs (gallium arsenide) red light, GaP (gallium phosphide) green light, GaN (gallium nitride) blue light.
