As is well known, LCD splicing screens have become the main display equipment for monitoring and display. The splicing screen monitor and the front-end camera form a comprehensive monitoring and display platform. In addition, there is another device that determines the compression and decoding of video signals for on-screen display, including various display effects. The devices that determine the display of monitoring signals mainly include decoders and splicing processors.
In large and medium-sized monitoring projects such as campuses, residential areas, factories, and enterprises, splicing screen monitors often use multiple screens to display monitoring images, which requires the use of decoding equipment to splice them onto walls. As early as January 2018, Zhongchong launched a decoding and control integrated machine, providing more diverse solutions for users and engineering companies to build monitoring projects, which to some extent saved a significant portion of engineering costs. Many people may have a question in their minds: what is the difference between this device and the decoder when it comes to decoding cameras on the wall?
A decoder is a hardware host specifically designed for decoding, which can connect multiple cameras, multiple high-definition screens, and achieve wall splicing for monitoring. This is a dedicated decoding device that can independently add cameras to the wall or be added by the VMS management platform for resource retrieval and TV wall management. Its function is to decode the camera or video stream onto the wall, but it cannot add a video recorder, retrieve playback recordings, or remotely add a camera. And the decoding and splicing control system is equipped with a built-in management platform. We all know that unified management is required in large networks, and server host deployment is required, which will result in higher costs. Now, we only need one physical machine to solve the decoding and management needs, which can save one computer host.
1. Splicing decoder
When selecting decoding equipment, it often affects the display function. If it is only used for decoding monitoring, whole screen or segmented image display functions, a splicing decoder is needed. The number of input and output interfaces of the decoder is determined by the number of hard disk recorders and splicing screens. Currently, the decoder supports decoding up to 32 monitoring signals on a single screen, and supports 4, 9, 16 channels, etc.
2. Splicing processor
On the one hand, the splicing processor can be used as a decoding device, and on the other hand, it can also achieve a major function, which is the overlay roaming display function. This is often used in command centers, and the specific display effect is to display one video signal on the original screen, thereby achieving the overlay roaming function. However, due to the limitations of its device, it can only segment up to four signals during single segmentation, which cannot be compared to decoders.
We can understand a LCD splicing screen as a LCD display. Although it is composed of multiple splicing, it is still a large display. The only difference is that its border is narrower, and it has splicing and segmentation functions through software control. The ultra narrow border determines the visual experience, while its industrial grade LCD panel determines its durability. Therefore, the number of control signals is still determined by the control equipment.
The functions of network high-definition decoders and large screen splicing processors are different, and their roles in system integration are also different. Customers can choose according to their needs, and the two can also be controlled in conjunction.
